Quality + Sourcing

Reclaimed and remanufactured wood is rich with character, steeped in Vancouver Island history. It is perfect for wide plank flooring, stair components, mantles and furniture like harvest tables or coffee tables. Old timber has an unmatched rustic beauty complete with scars and that unique patina that only comes with time. This wood has a story and many people are interested in the history behind the lumber.

Salvaged wood may come from old logging slashes, using timber that logging companies can't afford to deal with. This "green" wood is perfect for most building projects and can be milled to your specifications.

We carry a large stock of local wood including clear fir, hemlock and Red Cedar perfect for interior finishing projects including custom mouldings, manufactured to suit your design.

Family Owned + Operated

In 1986, when first arriving to Vancouver Island Rafael Herrera worked and learned how to process wood for shake and shingle mills from red and yellow cedar wood until 1998. After gaining valuable hands-on knowledge and experience he then decided to specialize in wood salvage.

Rafael is an avid outdoorsman and wood aficionado, for him there is no better choice of work than salvaging the most precious of cargo ... abandoned old-growth trees.

It wasn’t long before his wife and their four sons found themselves along for the ride working every summer, and when they were not in school they were learning the family business.

Rafael started Herrera Enterprise’s when it was just him and one truck.

These days he employs a family run, local team of people to continually provide quality products for local businesses and customers. The business has enabled him to create an array of jobs that vary from shake block splitters, cutters, semi-truck drivers, helicopter pilots and general labourers.

Herrera Enterprises prides its self on its platform of traditional family values and providing quality products and services.
